Top of the Pops (TOTP) was a British music chart television show, broadcast weekly mostly on Thursday evenings on BBC One (later BBC Two) between January 1, 1964 and July 30, 2006. It was the world's longest-running weekly music show. Each show consisted of performances of some of the week's best-selling popular music records, usually excluding any tracks moving down the chart, including a rundown of that week's singles chart. The TOTP format was sold to RTL in Germany in the 1990s, and aired on Saturday afternoons until 2006. Mariah Carey has performed on both the English and German versions of the show.
