Someday (EP) is a digital extended play that was released on July 24, 2020.[1] The EP was released under Columbia Records and includes a series of remixes of Carey’s song “Someday”, which was released as a single from her self-titled album on November 15, 1990.
This is the second EP released in the #MC30 series.
Background[]
On November 15, 1990, "Someday" was released as the third single from Mariah's self-titled debut album.[2] It went on to become Carey's third consecutive number-one single on the US Billboard Hot 100.[3] Someday (EP) is the second release as part of Carey’s #MC30 series, in which every Friday sees a release of rare music to celebrate Carey’s music career since her self-titled debut album release in 1990.[1]
The EP comprises of 8 remixes. It has only been released digitally through platforms such as: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, Tidal, iTunes etc. It features tracks that were previously unreleased such as the 'House Dub Version', the 'New Jack Dub Version' and the 'New Jack Bonus Beats'.[2]
On the day of the EP's release, Carey tweeted: "Going back to the first album this week for #MC30 haven't listened to these remixes in a minute."[4]
Chart performance[]
The EP debuted at #19 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Charts.[5] In specific country's iTunes Charts, it peaked at #3 in Spain, #9 in Mexico and #18 in the Netherlands[6]
