Sherry McGhee (born October 4, 1968) is an American R&B and gospel singer-songwriter. McGhee worked as Mariah Carey's background singer mainly during the Butterfly era.

Background[]

McGhee first started working with Carey in 1997, being featured on select live performances, such as "Butterfly" on The Late Show with David Letterman, included on Butterfly: 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition. McGhee accompanied Carey on the Butterfly World Tour in 1998 and provided background vocals for both hip-hop and dance remixes of "My All."

Between 2008 and 2014, McGhee was credited as a background vocalist on several songs.

McGhee acted as a stand in for Maryann Tatum-Shields at a private performance at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes on the French Riviera on April 29, 2023, at Carbone Beach's Qatar Grand Prix dinner party in Doha, Qatar on October 6, 2023 and during the Canadian dates of the Merry Christmas One and All! tour. McGhee also accompanied Carey on her performance at the Saadiyat Nights festival on January 6, 2024.
