One Night is the sixth track from Mariah's eight compilation album, The Rarities. The song was written and prouduced by Mariah and Jermaine Dupri and was released on October 2, 2020 through Columbia and Legacy Records.
Background[]
The track from penned and produced by Carey and Jermaine Dupri. It was originally recorded for the Daydream album, but was left partially unfinished until it was found again.[1]
On September 9, 2020 Mariah revealed the track-listing for the compilation album, The Rarities.[2] On the album, "One Night" was listed as the sixth track.
Within the booklet of The Rarities, there is a liner note for each song. The passage on “One Night” reads:
