Background

Mesmerized was a track recorded for Lee Daniel's "The Paperboy", but was not included in the final cut of the film. 

On September 9, 2020 Mariah revealed the track-listing for compilation album, The Rarities. On the album, "Mesmerized" was listed as the twelfth track.

Mesmerized was penned by Mariah and Loris Holland.
