#MerryChristmas25 and #MC25 were hashtags used to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Mariah Carey's first Christmas album, Merry Christmas, originally released in 1994.

Background[]

On September 23, 2019 Mariah uploaded a video to social media where she announced #MerryChristmas25.[1] The video shows Carey using lipstick to draw on a mirror. On the mirror she wrote phrases such as "November 1st," "All I Want for Christmas is You," "New Merch pre-order now," and "St John The Divine." She captioned the video:
