"Made for Me" is a song by American singer and songwriter Muni Long, originally released on September 25, 2023. A remix of the song featuring Mariah Carey was released on May 21, 2024.
Background and release[]
On May 9, 2024, a remix of the song featuring Carey was teased by Dupri on social media.[1] On May 14, 2024, Long announced on TikTok that the remix would be released on May 21, 2024.
The remix did not receive a typical midnight release, which prompted several fans to voice their frustration online, leading Carey to post a screenshot of a story generated by Grok, a chatbot exclusive to X Premium and Premium+ subscribers, about the remix and its possibly delayed release, and simply caption it with "???."[2]
Later that day, Carey, once again, took to X to officially acknowledge the remix, informing fans it was still on track to be released.[3] The remix was finally released at 9pm ET.
Speaking to Rated R&B, Carey praised Long:[4]
