Carey's debut appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! was on June 23, 2006 to talk about Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball and the then-upcoming The Adventures of Mimi tour. Carey also partook in a game called "Who Knows Mariah?" against one of her fans called Kelly.
2008[]
On July 31, 2008, Carey appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about her wedding, the "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" music video, her second fragrance Luscious Pink, being part of Time's 100 most influential people in the world and throwing the opening pitch at the Yomiuri Giants vs Rakuten Eagles baseball game in Japan. Additionally, the performances of the "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time / Touch My Body" medley and "Side Effects" with Young Jeezy from the second annual Samsung AT&T Summer Krush concert series were broadcast on the show.
2015[]
On May 18, 2015, Carey sat down with Kimmel to talk about #1 to Infinity, her residency show in Las Vegas and their favorite TV shows. Carey later performed a four-song set outside and the performance of the "Vision of Love / Infinity" medley was broadcast. "Touch My Body", "Always Be My Baby" and "We Belong Together" were also performed but were not aired on the show.

On June 2, 2016, Carey stopped by the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show to talk about the June 2016 leg of #1 to Infinity and her docu-series, Mariah's World, all while sitting in a bathtub filled with bubbles, being served champagne and hand-fed grapes.
2017[]
On February 15, 2017, Carey went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform her single at the time "I Don't" with YG. A performance of "Vision of Love" was also taped and made available exclusively on YouTube. She was not interviewed.
2018[]
Carey went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on June 6, 2018 to talk about the recording process of her then-upcoming album including making a song with Roc and Roe, her second Las Vegas residency show The Butterfly Returns and her time on American Idol.
2023[]
On November 2, 2023, Carey went on the show and talked about pranking Kimmel the night before, her love of making crank calls and getting in trouble for them, the Beatles coming out with a new single, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" being #1 every year and what her kids think of it, her Merry Christmas One and All! tour, ringing in the Holiday season, being late to the show, what Britney Spears wrote about her in her new book, her thoughts about all the lighting in the studio and not having a driver's license.
