Here for It All is the sixteenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey. It was released on September 26, 2025, through Gamma.
Background[]
The possibility of a follow-up to Caution was first mentioned in an interview with People in August 2019, during which Carey stated that she "[had] a concept for [her] next album that [she's] really excited about."[2]
On August 8, 2021, Dorinda Clark Cole of The Clark Sisters revealed that the group had collaborated with Carey on a new track, which was later revealed to be "Jesus I Do."[3]
During several interviews in 2024, Mariah stated that she is still writing songs for the new album, indicating a possible 2025 release date.
On June 2, 2025, Carey posted a video on social media teasing the album. The video features Carey getting in a car with a license plate that reads "MC16," while a muffled version of "It's Like That" plays in the background, which Carey skips, and a new song is then heard playing. The video ends on a black screen with "What's your type?" on white text.[4] The new song was later revealed to be "Type Dangerous," the album's lead single.
On July 17, 2025, Carey posted a video on social media humming the lyrics "I'mma keep it nice, I'mma keep it neat, I hope that you don't mind, I'mma keep it sweet, sugar, sugar, sweet" while cleaning, with the caption "I have this song stuck in my head...."[5] The video was later reposted by Felisha King, a member of the R&B group Cherish, who added the caption, "Something's coming!!!!" Producer Harv, King's husband, then reshared her story, teasing his involvement in the upcoming song.[6] The next day, Carey posted a montage featuring tweets from fans, articles and headlines mentioning new music, intertwined with sound bites of Carey teasing the album. The video ends with the words "MC16" and "soon" in black lettering against a white background.[7] A day later, Carey teased the album's second single, seemingly titled "Sugar Sweet," in a video where she bakes a cake and sings the song.[8]
On July 20, Carey posted a video on social media featuring all her albums, from Mariah Carey, subtitled "MC1" to Caution, subtitled "MC15," to the sound of a cappella soundbites from "Vision of Love," "Emotions," "Fantasy," "Hero", "Always Be My Baby," "My All," "Heartbreaker," "We Belong Together," "Touch My Body," "Obsessed," and "#Beautiful." The video ended with a blank wall subtitled "MC16."[9] A countdown was added to Carey’s Instagram story, set to end the next day at 10 a.m. ET. When the countdown ended, the album title was revealed to be Here for It All, with a release date set for September 26, 2025.[10] CD and vinyl variants were immediately made available for pre-order on Carey's Amazon Store, including two Amazon exclusives: a cloud vinyl and a CD, both with an exclusive cover art revealed the next day. A limited edition Target-exclusive honey vinyl was also made available for pre-order at the same time. Carey's music store showcased a cassette with the original cover art, along with three D2C exclusives: a translucent ice black vinyl, an ice black cassette, and a CD, all with an exclusive cover art revealed on July 23, 2025.
Carey revealed the album's tracklist on August 27, 2025, via Instagram Stories, with clips featuring new lyrics and their corresponding song titles.[11]
The Here for It All merchandise collection was released on September 16, 2025, ten days prior to the release of the album.[12]
British tabloid The Sun reported on September 17, 2025 that "Play This Song" would be released as the third single from Here for It All alongside the album and would feature a "high-budget" music video.[13] Carey officially announced the single's release on September 23, 2025, including a link to the music video's YouTube premiere.
