Dreamlover (EP) is a digital extended play that was released on August 7, 1993. This EP marks the sixth #MC30 release in which every Friday sees a reveal of rare music to celebrate Carey’s music career since her self-titled debut album released in 1990.[1]
The eleven-track EP comprises remixes from the US CD maxi-single, as well as previously unreleased remixes, including 'Def Club Mix Edit', 'Def Club Mix Edit 2005', 'Theo's Club Joint' and 'Bam Jam Soul. In addition, two live versions of the original song was included.[2]
Background[]
On July 27, 1993, the lead single from Mariah's third album titled "Music Box" was released. The single peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2]

The EP comprises a series of remixes from both the US CD maxi-single of the song as well as previously unreleased remixes, including 'Def Club Mix Edit', 'Def Club Mix Edit 2005', 'Theo's Club Joint' and 'Bam Jam Soul.' Additionally, live performances at Madison Square Garden for the TV special Fantasy: Mariah Carey at Madison Square Garden (1995), and at Proctor's Theatre for the TV special Here Is Mariah Carey (1993), were also included on the EP.[3] It has only been released digitally through Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, Tidal, iTunes, etc.
Mariah tweeted about the EP on its release date: "This is always such a fun song to perform live are you team MSG or team Proctor's theater? both available on the #Dreamlover EP! #MC30."[4]
Chart performance[]
Dreamlover EP debuted at #33 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.[5] It peaked at #20 on August 8th.[6]
In specific countries, the EP peaked at #3 in Indonesia and #10 in the Netherlands.[6]
