American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special[]

Carey was announced as a performer on the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special on September 26, 2024. The announcement came with the news that Carey would perform a medley of songs from The Emancipation of Mimi as part of the early celebrations of the album's 20th anniversary. The special, which was taped on October 3, 2024 and aired on October 6, 2024, featured Carey performing a snippet of "Don't Forget About Us," seguing into "We Belong Together."
