Always Be My Baby (EP) is a digital extended play that was released on August 14, 2020. This EP marks the eleventh #MC30 release in which every Friday sees a reveal of rare music to celebrate Carey’s music career since her self-titled debut album released in 1990.[1]
Background[]
In March of 1996, the fourth single of Daydream titled "Always Be My Baby" was released. The song peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2]
The release of this EP is part of the #MC30 series in which every Friday sees a release of rare music to celebrate Carey’s music career since her self-titled debut album release in 1990.
The EP comprises nine tracks including the main dance remix, named the "Always Club Mix" (along with its edit, the "Def Classic Radio Mix"), which has a totally new melodic structure and lyrics altered to fit the new melody and song structure. DJ Satoshi Tomiie also created a dance dub that used these new vocals; calling it the "ST Dub," it appeared on the maxi-single that included the Morales mixes.
The EP also includes a live performance at Madison Square Garden in October of 1995.

Always Be My Baby EP debuted and peaked at #13 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.[3]
In specific country's charts, it peaked at #32 in the U.S., #25 in the UK and #1 in Brazil.
